The game puts players in the boots of US Army Private First Class Ronald 'Red' Daniels who arrives on the beaches of Normandy with the 1st Infantry Division (Big Red One) during the invasion of Europe. Red experiences the brutal reality of life in the front lines with his brothers-in-arms as they fight to preserve freedom in the world on the brink of tyranny.

Players will traverse the vastness of war-torn Europe from Normandy to the Hurtgen Forest and experience the dramatic narrative that describes the bravery and sacrifice of the men who fought in WWII during 1944 to 1945. It will however, highlight certain events from 1940 to 1944 to contextualize the game's main story campaign.

CoD: WWII will retain the same fast-paced and story-driven campaign missions as with the previous games in the franchise, as well as exciting multiplayer elements such as War, Divisions and Headquarters which will be detailed further towards the game's release.
